We have photographed every Long Island wedding venue on this list. Not toured them, not admired them online. We have worked them, through full wedding days, in every season. This guide is what we know from being in the room: where the light lands at six o’clock, which spaces photograph beautifully and which ones need a plan, where the portraits actually happen when the timeline slips, as it always does. Some of these venues we would book ourselves. A few we wouldn’t, and we’ll say which. That is the part a directory cannot give you.

Address: 333 Bayville Avenue, Bayville, NY 11709
Website: Crescent Beach Club
Guest Capacity: Up to 450
Amenities: Private white sand beach, grand ballroom with crystal chandeliers, panoramic waterfront views
Crescent Beach Club gets you a beach ceremony without the logistics of a second location. Vows happen directly on the sand with the Sound behind you and guests seated along the wooden boardwalk. The garden paths and that one chair on the terrace are where we end up for portraits every time.

Address: 45 7th St, Garden City, NY 11530
Website: The Garden City Hotel
Guest Capacity: Up to 500
Amenities: Grand ballroom, English garden, luxury guest rooms, valet parking
The Garden City Hotel has been standing since 1874 and it behaves like it. The Grand Ballroom seats 650 under crystal chandeliers, the Rotunda has a domed ceiling, and the Société Suite opens onto an eighty foot terrace above Garden City. If you want a large traditional Long Island wedding, this is the benchmark.

Address: 100 Fox Hill Dr, Baiting Hollow, NY 11933
Website: Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow
Guest Capacity: Up to 300
Amenities: Private beach, outdoor ceremony spaces, bridal suite, groom’s lounge
Giorgio’s is Mediterranean from the driveway in. A tree lined entrance, a grand staircase, then a ballroom for 300 with high ceilings and big windows. Outside there is a white pergola garden, a courtyard with water features, and private beach access. It suits large families and celebrations that run long.

Address: 240 Glen Cove Rd, Glen Head, NY 11545
Website: Glen Head Country Club
Guest Capacity: Up to 300
Amenities: Landscaped grounds, elegant reception space, outdoor ceremony space, on-site catering
Glen Head is the North Shore country club done properly. White columns, green awnings with the club emblem, and a garden lawn for the ceremony with the clubhouse terrace above it. The ballroom has wood accents and tall windows over rolling greens and a pond. Classic rather than surprising, which is the point.

Address: 240 Glen Cove Rd, Glen Head, NY 11545
Website: Land’s End Waterfront Catering
Guest Capacity: Up to 350
Amenities: Private beach, waterfront gazebo, grand ballroom, landscaped gardens
At Land’s End, we have learned to keep an eye on the boardwalk as sunset approaches. Some of our favorite portraits there have happened in that short window when the Great South Bay turns pastel and the light begins wrapping softly around our couple. Earlier in the day, the gardens provide a more classic backdrop, while the waterfront and boardwalk allow the photographs to become unmistakably coastal. The variety is wonderful, but those few quiet minutes beside the bay tend to stay with us.

Address: 200 E Shore Dr, Massapequa, NY 11758
Website: Riviera Waterfront Mansion
Guest Capacity: Up to 350
Amenities: Waterfront ceremony space, grand ballroom, bridal suite, manicured gardens
Riviera sits on the Great South Bay and the ceremony lawn looks straight out at it. The ballroom has balconies with water views and a proper dance floor, and there is a stone archway and a garden walkway outside. It handles formal and relaxed equally well.

Website: The Lannin
Guest Capacity: Up to 450
Amenities: Indoor & outdoor ceremony spaces, ballroom, bridal suite, groom’s quarters
The Lannin sits inside Eisenhower Park, which means landscaped grounds and easy parking, two things Long Island venues rarely manage together. The ballroom will hold over 400 or scale down to something intimate, and there is a garden ceremony space out back. Flexibility is its real feature.

Website: Water’s Edge Centerport
Guest Capacity: Up to 300
Amenities: Waterfront setting, ballroom, outdoor ceremony space, on-site catering
Water’s Edge puts a white gazebo beside Mill Pond and the whole day organises around the water. The Summerwind Ballroom seats 300 behind expansive windows, and the cocktail terrace is a stone patio directly on the pond with sailboats going past. Wrought iron stairs lead up to the getting ready suites.

Address: 1395 Planting Fields Rd, Oyster Bay, NY 11771
Website: Planting Fields Arboretum
Guest Capacity: Up to 50
Amenities: Great Hall with stained glass windows, vibrant gardens filled with aromatic herbs
Planting Fields is 400 acres, so you can walk five minutes from your own reception and be completely alone. Coe Hall is the Tudor Revival mansion everyone photographs, but the Italian Garden with its reflecting pool and the glass Camellia House are where we actually spend our time. Best from late April through October.

Website: TWA Hotel
Guest Capacity: Up to 400 guests

Larkfield is built like a Tuscan estate and commits to it. Stone walls, ivy and fountains around the courtyard ceremony space, cobblestone underfoot, wrought iron gates and a grand staircase inside. The Villaggio Room holds 400 and the Borghese around 200. European without being formal.

Address: 5720 NY-25A, Wading River, NY 11792
Website: East Wind Long Island
Guest Capacity: Up to 300
Amenities: Overnight accommodations, outdoor recreational activities, on-site spa
East Wind is 26 acres with four separate spaces, so it works for very different weddings. The Estate has the grand ballroom and the garden gazebo, the Vineyard sits among the vines, and the Northampton and Veranda are cleaner and more modern. A hotel and a spa on site solve a lot of logistics.

Address: 214 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040
Website: The Inn at New Hyde Park
Guest Capacity: Up to 500
Amenities: Award-winning cuisine, unique customizable spaces, grand fireplace

Website: Flowerfield Celebrations
Guest Capacity: Up to 350

Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is 37 acres on Kaler’s Pond and it is a nonprofit, so a wedding here supports something beyond the day. Address: 599 E Main St, Islip, NY 11751
Website: Tellers Next Door
Guest capacity: Up to 120
Amenities: Sailcloth pavilion, private bar, bridal suite, entertainment balcony
One of the things we enjoyed most about photographing Tellers Next Door was the contrast between its interior and exterior. Inside the Pavilion, candlelit tables, florals, and warm up lighting created an intimate reception atmosphere. Outside, the brick architecture and distinctive red industrial lamps gave us something with more texture and personality for portraits. Moving between those two environments allowed us to create variety without asking the couple to leave the celebration behind.
