A strong wind rolled off the bay all day, but Jackie and Kyle never seemed to notice. They were too busy enjoying their wedding.
That ease set the tone for their spring wedding at Land’s End. A breezy May day on the water. A heartfelt ceremony led by family. A reception full of energy that carried late into the night. Through all of it, the two of them stayed relaxed, present, and clearly meant for each other.
Land’s End Waterfront Catering, set along the Great South Bay in Sayville, gave the day a backdrop that matched the warmth of the couple.

Jackie and Kyle both got ready at Land’s End, which made the morning feel relaxed and unhurried. The venue’s bridal suite is beautiful, full of natural light and space for Jackie and her party to settle in. The energy there was calm and joyful.

The groom’s suite carried its own vibe, as it always does. Kyle and his guys had a looser, easygoing energy as they got ready. Every wedding has this contrast between the two rooms, and it is one of our favorite things to document.

Because everyone prepared on site, the day flowed smoothly from the very first moment. There was no rushing between locations, just time to enjoy the morning.

Jackie and Kyle chose to share a first look, and it was the right call. The moment was quiet and full of emotion, a chance for them to be together before the day opened up around them.

The wind that day was strong. Whitecaps rolled across the bay, and the breeze had real force to it. Rather than fight it, we worked with it. We found sheltered spots around the property where the couple could feel calm and comfortable, while still capturing the waterfront feel they wanted.

This is where experience matters on a waterfront wedding. A strong breeze does not have to disrupt the day. With the right locations and a little planning, the wind became a non-issue for Jackie and Kyle. They stayed relaxed, and the images turned out beautifully.

We photographed all of the portraits before the ceremony. The couple, their families, and the full bridal party were all done early in the day.
This is one of the best decisions a couple can make. By finishing portraits ahead of time, Jackie and Kyle were free to simply experience the rest of their wedding. They joined cocktail hour, stayed present for their guests, and never had to step away from the celebration.

Their bridal party made the portrait session a genuine highlight. This was a fun, lively group, and that easy energy comes through in every image. Photographing a wedding party that enjoys each other’s company is always a pleasure.

The ceremony took place outside, overlooking the bay. What made it truly special was the officiant. Jackie’s father led the ceremony, and the result was deeply personal.

There is a particular kind of emotion in a ceremony led by a parent. Every word carried weight. The moment felt intimate and genuine, full of love not just between Jackie and Kyle but across the whole family. It was one of the most heartfelt ceremonies we have had the privilege to photograph.

The waterfront setting only deepened the feeling. With the bay behind them and family all around, Jackie and Kyle began their marriage in a setting that felt both grand and personal.

Cocktail hour at Land’s End is something special. The venue is known for it, and this wedding showed exactly why.

As the weather turned, cocktail hour moved inside, and the celebration did not lose a step. Guests gathered with the water still in view through the windows, enjoying the spread as the day shifted into its next chapter. A solo violinist played throughout, and the music filled the room beautifully The atmosphere was lively and warm. Because the couple had finished portraits earlier, they were able to join in fully and enjoy the moment with everyone.

Inside, the reception came alive. The DJ kept the energy high from the first song to the last, and the dance floor stayed full all night.
The speeches were meaningful, the kind that make a room laugh and tear up in the same breath. The dancing was nonstop. Throughout the evening, Jackie and Kyle were right in the middle of it, surrounded by the people who love them most.

As the night went on, we found a moment to step away for a night portrait on the venue’s beautiful stairwell. These after-dark images have a quiet drama to them, a nice contrast to the energy inside.
Then came an unexpected delight. An ice cream truck pulled up to cap off the night. It was a playful, joyful surprise, and it gave us the chance for a few of the most lighthearted images of the day. After hours of dancing and emotion, there was something perfect about ending the night with ice cream in hand and the celebration still glowing around them. It was exactly the kind of detail that makes a wedding feel like its own.

Land’s End is a remarkable venue in any season, and spring brings out a particular kind of beauty. The light is soft, the gardens are fresh, and the bay feels alive.
Spring on the water does come with breeze, as Jackie and Kyle’s day showed. But that is part of the character of a waterfront wedding, and with the right approach it only adds to the experience. The venue’s mix of beautiful interior spaces and stunning grounds means there is always a perfect spot, whatever the weather brings.

For couples drawn to a waterfront celebration with natural beauty and warm service, Land’s End is one of the finest choices on Long Island’s South Shore.

Yes, often, especially in spring. A breeze off the bay is part of the waterfront character. An experienced photographer knows how to find sheltered spots and time portraits so the wind never disrupts the day or the images.
Yes. Many couples love this approach, and completing portraits before the ceremony lets you be fully present for cocktail hour and the reception, rather than stepping away from your own celebration. Jackie and Kyle did exactly this and enjoyed their entire evening.
Yes. Many couples choose a meaningful personal officiant. Jackie’s father led their ceremony, which made the moment especially heartfelt. A family officiant can add a deeply personal layer to the day.
